Delayed But Still Destined
On yesterday I left my hotel in Indiana at 11:30 expecting to board a plane at 4:22 which would take me into Hotlanta! I waited patiently with my travel companions laughing, talking, and sharing. As the four o'clock hour approached the captain made an announcement informing us our flight would be delayed due to thunderstorms in Atlanta. Needless to say there were several more delays due to the weather. I almost missed my connecting flight to Baton Rouge. We experienced storms during both of our initial descents, but an hour later than my original destination time I had reached my final stop. I was delayed but I arrived! Somebody on this morning you have experienced setbacks, roadblocks, detours, and road closures, BUT your destination is still promised! All the turbulence we experienced along the way prepares us to maintain once we arrive at our destination, God never promised us we would not have trials and tribulations, but he did say for us to be of good cheer. Well, you may be saying how can I be of good cheer? Let me tell you why, because Jesus overcame we are the overcomers! I have learned to appreciate setbacks, disappointments, and closed doors. They simply encourage me to know that something greater is ahead or something detrimental was coming down the line. See I was disappointed when the pilot said we were delayed but I realized we could have been on the plane and trapped in bad weather! So the next time your plans or steps are altered ,don't allow it to make you give up on your promise. Keep moving on knowing that your delay is moving you closer to your destination than you think! Every closed door is not a lost opportunity, but a chance for a greater advantage!
